HELP! How do we stay cool in our home?

It is 90 degrees out, our air conditioning is not working, and it will not be repaired for 10 days.
I saw this on G4 but i guess it actually works. Fill a big barrel with cold water and put a tube into the barrel. Attatch a coil of piping to the back of a fan and attatch the tube to the piping so the water flows through it. When the water flows through the tubing you can add another tube outside and collect the water in another barrel so you don

Why are people so concerned about Global Warming and not the dangers of Chemtrails?

The Government (Big Brother) warns us about cigarette smoking, car emissions, salt in our diet and anything else the Government wants to feed us to control us. But what about Chemtrails? And the constant toxins the Government is spraying in the air. WWW.CHEMTRAILS911.COM.

I noticed that the stories that are in the paper or on the news are 95% (my opinion) of the time negative and the rest of the stories are totally neutral leaning towards negative.

Has anyone ever recycled a washing machine at those recycling plants? If so how much have you gotten?

Just curious I have two in my backyard is it worth recycling them or sell them to individuals?
More likely you will have to pay to have them recycled. That money essentially covers the overhead of dismantling the items.

Your washing machine does have some value in the internal parts, the motors have some value by themselves, the wire, the various metals used elsewhere, they all have value, not much in the case of single machines, but as you enlarge the scale of the recovery, the more money you can make if you have several tons of recovered steel.

In some cases, if you strip the machines down to basic component pieces, you can save the cost of the recycling fee if you happen to have a scrap metal dealer in your area. Check with your local waste hauler or unit of government office (city hall if in town) and see what information they have regarding appliance disposal. If it is in pieces, any junkyard wil likely take it off your hands, as for what you might make off them? not much.

If you try to sell them to people, most want them working. If you know what is wrong with each machine, you might be able to sell them for the good parts to someone who is looking to fix their own machine.

I feel like I look around me and all I see is the destruction of nature and humans out of balance with the the earth. It makes me so sad. I thought going to school as an environmental science major would make me feel empowered but I just feel like we are doomed to kill off our world. It seems that people care more about religion, pop culture, and money than the earth that sustains their very existence. How do I feel better about this. Please only thoughtful and polite answers, this is really bothering me. After years of thinking about it I just feel grief and hopelessness.
If you are saddened by this, then you must try to do something about it. The world can change, even if it is very little, just by the efforts of one person. Get together with some people who share your mind set, and educate others on what we can do to make the world a safer place for all life. We will never get anything accomplished if we sit around and do nothing. Instead of thinking about things, get up and do them. There is a big difference between the two. I am huge on the environment, and yes, it is a large task for one person, but as others see you making an effort, they will join you as well.
Nature takes care of itself. It addapts very well but if we continue to push too hard nature will do what natures dose best and slap us into submission. Tis the nature of things.
Make a difference in your part of the world, neighborhood etc. Then you will start to overcome your sadness. Go forth and do this.
Just know this.

You are not alone.

I agree, there are too many shallow people around.
